A designer’s eye.
A developer’s curiosity.

I’m Hugo, the designer and developer behind HNDZN. For more than a decade, I’ve worked where product thinking, interface design, and implementation overlap.

I’ve designed inspector-facing interfaces at Transport Canada, co-founded Downloads, and served as CTO at Noibu. Alongside that, HNDZN has been my space to work directly with businesses on their brands, websites, and products.

What connects that work is a simple belief: people should feel considered when they use something. In the way a page reads. In a form that makes sense. In an interface that works just as well on a phone. Those details are the work.

How I work

What I bring to the table.

Design and development are different disciplines, but the product gets stronger when their decisions are made together.

Clarity before decoration

Start with the users, outcomes, constraints, and content. The visual language earns its place by making those things easier to understand.

Systems over isolated screens

Responsive rules, reusable components, and deliberate states keep the experience coherent after the first polished mockup.

Production is part of design

Accessibility, performance, maintainability, and real content are design inputs-not cleanup tasks saved for the end.

A project to shape. A team to join.
Let’s see where I can help.
